Summary:
Civil / Structural / Architectural Designer with Diploma / ITI Draftsmanship (in Civil / Mechanical engineering) and 8 to 16 years of relevant experience in a steel detailing office of repute. Should have exposure to design office practices using computer aided drafting and 3D modeling tools. Should have experience of preparing, checking and leading steel detailing work using TEKLA software.
Essential Job Duties:
Shall deliver the complete fabrication package as per project schedule.
Shall ensure compliance with Bechtel’s standard procedures and project requirements.
Shall assign work and provide technical direction to subordinate detailers / drafters and check the deliverables.
Shall perform modelling of steel members and connections for critical structures and produce fabrication and erection drawings using TEKLA software.
Shall assist in the development of basic layout drawings for civil/structural data or other purposes.
Shall respond to fabricator’s queries and manage tracking list.
Job Knowledge:
Knowledge of detail engineering and deliverables and understanding of the complete detailing work process including all the tools proposed to be used.
Good skills in oral and written communication.
Should be proficient in using MS office tools.
Understanding of Engineering Department Procedures and relevant Bechtel design guides.
Knowledge of constructability and applicable standards and codes including OSHA.
Preference will be given to the candidates who are proficient in using other 3D structural modeling software such as S3D, Frameworks, Revit etc. is essential.
Understanding of engineering planning and control methods including computerized methods.
Qualification:
A diploma or ITI draftsman course in Civil / Mechanical engineering as a minimum.
Preference will be given to the candidate worked on fabrication and / or erection.
Specialized courses in steel fabrication shop / yard will be an added advantage.
Experience:
Grade 23: 8 – 12 years of relevant work experience
Grade 24:12 – 16 years of relevant work experience
