To execute this transformation, we need people who take the lead within Agile squads and are able to set, prioritize, and evaluate the work generated by squads to ensure success. The Product Owner will take end-to-end ownership of Squad goals, set the product roadmap and drives value realization by translating the voice of the customer into product features.

BCG has a number of groups that are part of the Knowledge Function that all support client case execution. These services include: Data Research Services (DRS), Practice Area Knowledge Team (PA KT), Design Studios, Global Production, and Translation Services. As the Case Services Product Owner for the Knowledge & Design Tribe, you’ll have two primary responsibilities: 1) Collaborating with the business on a case team services solution that ‘guides’ consultants through requesting services depending on client & case needs, submits those requests to backend request management systems with reporting to support execution. This PO will continue to collaborate with the business on new features and other backlog items 2) Managing one or more of the underlying request management solutions. The Product Owner will be responsible for a squad of 6-10 resources including product analyst, scrum master, engineers, and quality assurance resources.

Among your responsibilities, you will:

Deliver business results and customer value

Build products until they are minimally viable, deploy to the business, and measure benefits.
Transition those products to ‘Run’ product owners
Deliver on specific and measurable KPIs to be defined for your Squad
Manage relevant product budget process and support the Tribe Lead in engaging with the funding process

Serve as the voice of customer or end-user

Translate the voice and needs of customer into user stories, engaging users as needed
Engage in continuous discovery (e.g., via surveys & interviews) to understand customer needs
Leverage empirical and qualitative data to assess feature performance and inform prioritization
Determine tradeoffs involving customer value, cost, and speed to execution
Proactively seek customer feedback to learn and better understand their needs and requirements
Facilitate product demos to empower Squad members with real-time feedback from customers

Oversee what is delivered by the Squad and when

Prioritize work through a well-organized backlog of user stories and clearly communicate what needs to be done and by when
Define and clearly communicate acceptance criteria for output based on business & customer needs

Support and enable the Squad to get its work done

Regularly engage with the Squad to offer feedback on work-in-progress and clarify requirements
Engage with Chapter Leads regarding resourcing and functional expertise required in Squad
Provide feedback as part of performance management of Squad members and other members of the Tribe

Set an overall vision to direct and inform the Squad’s work

Work closely with the Tribe Lead to understand and drive alignment on the Tribe’s business strategy, goals, and objectives
Translate Tribe objectives into a clear vision (e.g., via KPIs, sprint goals) for your Squad to inform the creation and prioritization of the Squad’s backlog of work
Share information about the Squad’s output and priorities with other Product Owners to ensure alignment across the organization

Enable the organization’s new way of working

Model behaviors to support the organization’s transformation to a new way of working
Actively create and maintain a Squad culture based on the organization and Agile behaviors
Provide informal and formal feedback within context of larger performance management system

Being comfortable leading, directing, and empowering team members without formal management authority
Working with ambiguous requirements and multi-disciplinary teams

Bringing a data-driven approach to decision making, both in day-to-day management and in making strategic trade-offs

Total 7+ years’ relevant experience as Product Owner, IT Project Manager, with experience in Agile roles like Scrum Master or Agile Coach a plus.
Agile Certifications, preferably (Professional Scrum Product Owner) or Scrum Alliance (Certified Product Owner)
Understanding of agile principles and ways of working
Experience with request management solutions & Service Now specifically are a plus
Good understanding of technology enabled business transformation, Digital transformation, Organizational transformation, delivering enterprise-level IT and Digital projects
Divergent thinker who can converge ideas into tangible products
Exceptional communications and stakeholder management skills
