Role: Credit Sr. Officer for the Wholesale Credit Risk Team covering India and MNC portfolio.

The credit risk team is responsible for underwriting, onboarding and ongoing management of Corporate & Investment Bank’s (“CIB”) credit risk portfolio in India. Our portfolio comprises of a diverse range of corporate clients in O&G, C&R, TMT, Power, Infrastructure & RE among others. The team works closely with a broad segment of key CIB business lines across the region including Global Corporate Bank, Debt Capital Markets, Structured and Leveraged Finance, Sales & Trading (credit, rates and equites), Treasury Services and Trade Finance. In addition, we have a portfolio of inbound MNC clients where the team is responsible for managing the local regulatory aspects .

Primary Responsibilities of the role include:

Ongoing monitoring of local corporate portfolio performance underscored by a deep and dynamic knowledge of developments on clients, documentation, and exposures
Undertaking due diligence for new clients and working alongside deal team on complex transactions
Developing a strong understanding of sectors, regulatory and legal environment across the regions
Interacting confidently with business partners across the regions on new transaction requests and preparing transaction and credit recommendations
Preparing and presenting Portfolio Risk reviews and other Adhoc reviews
Negotiating ISDA, CSA , Term sheets and Loan documents with oversight
Executing approved transactions and maintaining appropriate risk grades and limits
Mentoring, training and reviewing work of team members
Staying current on firm-wide risk policies and ensuring all governance, reporting and data quality requirements are met and maintained for client and client families
Contributing to firmwide initiatives and help drive and support innovation and continuous efficiency improvements.
Assisting in MNC client reviews and other legal entity related tasks

Skills/Qualifications

At least 5 – 7 years relevant experience in credit or related discipline
Strong analytical skills and sound knowledge of credit analysis techniques and process and its application across diverse sectors
Robust understanding of Financial Statements and Corporate Finance concepts
Strong excel and financial modelling skills
Strong communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively interact & build positive relationships with key stakeholders (across LOBs)
Highly motivated with an ability to work proactively & independently as well as in a team environment
Solution oriented attitude with an ability to identify credible challenges and propose solutions
Deadline orientation; organized and responsible; high attention-to-details
